WebJun 30, 2024 · So I've been trying to make a spider dropper XP farm and the spiders keep clinging to the walls and reducing or even entirely cancelling their fall damage which defeats the point of the dropper, but I don't want to use extra durability to kill these mobs. Is there any block that doesn't let them climb (with resources until jungle island)? WebI tested soul sand, bamboo, honey blocks and others but still spiders would climb. I decided to try Magma Blocks and a long as their higher than 2 blocks it should keep the spiders from climbing. Hopefully this helps the people who are making spider farms...

The major downside is that this needs to be a two-layer thick wall of whatever material. Remember that the indent needs to be at least three blocks off the ground to prevent a spider from jumping over it and then climbing. You always had/have to defend against them climbing up, even if zombies didn't like to tiptoe onto shoulders.
