Fox 27.5" forks are typically 10mm longer than the equivalent 26" fork so your new 140mm fork will be about 25mm longer than your old one. I put a 140mm X-Fusion fork on my 2012 Trance X which was ~23mm longer than the OEM 125mm fork and all the differences were positive.

If you have a 29’r then you need to make sure what fork offset your frame is intended to use, very likely and most common it will be designed for a 51mm offset.
