Cumulative change in biodiversity facets

WebJul 1, 2014 · Main conclusions: These results highlight a relative asynchrony of the different biodiversity facets occurring at large spatial scales. We show why a multifaceted approach to biodiversity dynamics is needed to better describe and understand changes in community composition in macroecology and conservation biogeography. Webmeasured as the cumulative length of the branches on the evolutionary tree (Srivastava et al. 2012; Winter et al. 2013). By integrating these other facets of biodiversity, ecologists have been learning about how anthropogenic environmental changes may threaten ecosystem functions and services (Alahuhta et al. 2024).
