It is a good idea to make sure that the grill has a little bit of protection or shielding to make it easier to start up. You may also find that the p setting may also play up in cold or windy temperatures. SpletLooking at purchasing an 850. Not new to traeger, had mine for 8 years and love it. But I live in Wyoming and we get very cold up here and very windy with that cold. Traeger does not have, and currently has no plans to produce, an insulation blanket for the Timberlines. Without it our current grill has issues keeping temp.
